In the Heart of Honduras

I try not to throw around recommendations lightly. Recommendations lose their strength if they are not sincere or earned. This school has my respect. I sincerely hope that Mission Board Leaders will not send their missionary candidates blindly to an institution for language learning because it is what they heard everyone else in their association is doing. I hope they are keenly aware of the philosophy of education is being taught at the school. At the SIH, the 1 on 1 approach to learning is UNMATCHED. I have been in 4 different arenas of Spanish Education and this BY FAR has exceeded my expectations. I will not belittle another school to make this school look better because it is not needed. The school can hold its own in every area of equipping students in the Spanish Language. I have two regrets: I wish I had found them sooner. & I wish had more time there.

"The Spanish Institute of Honduras is the perfect place to learn Spanish. Attending classes is both a challenge and a blessing. The staff, teachers and fellow students are welcoming and helpful and make the transition to a new culture a pleasant experience. We came knowing only a few words and phrases in Spanish and the teachers have patiently taught us much more. Having classes with one-on-one teaching has allowed us to progress at our own pace with no pressure and lots of encouragement. The staff are available to answer questions and assist with many of the "unknowns" of living in a different place.
